When we first started Kush Creative, our focus was the cannabis industry. It was new, exciting, and full of promise. We believed in the plant, and we still do. Cannabis as a medicine changes lives, and being part of that story was something we will always be proud of.

But anyone who has worked in cannabis knows the industry comes with unique challenges. What started as a movement driven by small and mid-sized local operators has increasingly become rigged against them. Political battles, unclear regulations, unstable banking, and corporate interests have created an environment that benefits corrupt politicians and large companies at the expense of the communities that built this industry.

The reality is that cannabis is on a path to be fully overtaken by Wall Street, leaving the OGs in the dust. That is not the future we signed up for, and it is not the future we want for our clients.

In the movie WarGames, there is a famous line: “Sometimes the only winning move is not to play.” That is how we came to see cannabis. The plant matters, the people matter, and the medicine will always matter. But the system is rigged, and playing the game only feeds into it. Choosing to step away was not giving up.
